Philippine Introduction



INTRODUCTION


An enchanting home; Philippines has a tropical climate, rich in natural resources and places where beauty blooms, where you can appreciate the touch of nature that even attracts many people to visit especially during their vacations and even to conduct their retirements. This country is composed of beautiful landscapes, diving spots, active volcanoes and also celebrating a colorful annual festivals. Hospitable and friendly people are ready to serve you. Philippines is not just up to its enchanting sceneries and wealth in natural resources, but also rich in historical heritage where you can realize how filipinos responded throughout those events.
By the way, Philippines is composed of 7,107 islands but it is literally divided into 3 major group of islands such as Luzon, Visayas ,and Mindanao. Luzon, is the largest one, where Manila (capital region) is located then Visayas,is the cluster of islands located below under Luzon. Mindanao is the second largest one, and is the home of various ethnic tribes.
The Philippines is divided into a hierarchy of local government units (LGUs) with 81 provinces. Provinces are subdivided into cities and municipalities which are composed of barangays. The barangay is the smallest local government unit.
   The Philippines is divided into 17 regions with all provinces grouped into one of 16 regions for administrative convenience. The National Capital Region however, is divided into four special districts. The regions themselves do not possess a separate local government, with the exception of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
